SHH is an immersive VR narrative experience. Set during the early days of the pandemic outbreak, the story unfolds a tapestry of intertwined fates centered around head nurse Shi Yu. Viewers experience her psychological journey as she wavers between parting from her family and standing firm in her duty, stepping into a subjective inner world grounded in a documentary backdrop.
Silence is a poem constantly interrupted—can you clearly hear the surging voices within your heart?
Combining 2D live-action footage, 3D modeling, and real-time engine technology, the work constructs an inhabitable emotional space spanning documentary and fiction, reality and subjective perception. Through the unique sense of presence native to the VR medium, the audience is placed directly inside the protagonist's inner world to experience psychological landscapes that resist traditional documentation yet genuinely exist.
As a work that grew alongside the pandemic era, SHH harnesses the immersive power of VR to invite viewers to the very edges of language—to listen to a poem that is silent, yet palpably real.
